Which policy applies?

Your policy is based on where you bought the item—not how you return it. Online and in-store purchases have different deadlines.

Online purchases

Eligible non-sale merchandise purchased online may be returned for a refund only when Main & Taylor Shoes physically receives the merchandise by the end of the 14th calendar day after carrier tracking shows delivery to you. The tracked delivery date is Day 0, and the next calendar day is Day 1.

You do not need to submit a return request, use an online portal, or receive approval before returning eligible merchandise. Creating a label, obtaining a postmark, or handing a package to a carrier does not stop the return clock. Transit time counts, so please allow enough time for the merchandise to arrive by Day 14.

You may return eligible online merchandise in any of these ways:

Use the printed peel-and-stick prepaid return label included with a qualifying order. The label already contains the correct return destination. A $10 return-shipping deduction is taken from the refund only when a Main & Taylor label is actually used.
Pay for your own tracked return shipping. Contact us for the correct mailing destination before shipping. No $10 Main & Taylor label deduction applies when our label is not used. Keep your tracking information.
Return the merchandise in person to staff at either our Raleigh or Greensboro store. No $10 label deduction applies when the Main & Taylor label is not used.

Returning an online purchase in person does not convert it into an in-store purchase. The online Day 14 received-by-us deadline still applies.

Main & Taylor does not process direct online exchanges or size swaps. Return the original eligible item and place a new order for the preferred size or style.

In-store purchases

Eligible non-sale merchandise purchased in a Main & Taylor store may be:

Returned from the purchase date through Day 7 for a refund to the original payment method, an exchange, or store credit.
Returned on Days 8–14 for an exchange or store credit only.

The purchase date is Day 0. Same-day returns are permitted. The 14-day exchange/store-credit period does not extend the 7-day refund period. If Day 7 or Day 14 falls on a day when the applicable store is closed, the deadline moves to that store's next scheduled open day.

Sale and Final Sale merchandise

Merchandise identified as Sale or Final Sale at purchase is final sale and is not eligible for a refund, exchange, or store credit. A discount code or automatic cart discount does not independently make an item final sale.

Merchandise condition

Eligible merchandise must be new and unworn, tried on indoors only, and returned with the original shoe box or packaging, tags, and included accessories. Returns are inspected before approval. We can use an identifiable online order as proof of purchase; a paper packing slip is helpful but is not required when we can locate the order.

Refunds and shipping charges

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within five business days after the merchandise is physically received and inspected. Your bank or card issuer may require additional time to post the refund.

Original standard and expedited outbound shipping charges are normally nonrefundable. If a Main & Taylor prepaid label is used for an ordinary eligible return, $10 is deducted once for that return shipment. A voided, damaged, omitted, or replacement label does not create an additional deduction.

Damaged, defective, or incorrect merchandise

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, email info@mainandtaylorshoes.com promptly with your order number and photos. We will provide or authorize return shipping at no cost, waive the $10 deduction, and offer a replacement when available or a refund when it is not. Applicable outbound shipping is refunded for a verified Main & Taylor error.

Effective date

This policy applies to purchases made on or after August 27, 2026. Earlier purchases retain the policy disclosed when they were purchased.
